A top master calligrapher will explain in detail the history of calligraphy, the origins of hiragana, kanji, and other characters, and the use of calligraphy tools to participants. Using a brush, calligraphy is a way of expressing one's emotions, such as passion and peacefulness. Through calligraphy, participants can experience traditional Japanese culture.
Participants will learn the basic posture and proper way to sit while writing, and those who are new to calligraphy will receive personalized guidance. Not only will you learn how to write, but you will also gain an understanding of the essence and spirit of calligraphy. Get the chance to practice writing characters and write your favorite ones on handheld fans to take home as a souvenir. This class can accommodate up to 100 participants, and additional staff will be available as needed.
Participants will be divided into groups of 5–10 for a collaborative calligraphy experience. Under the guidance of the instructor, they will learn to write characters on large sheets of paper in a dynamic and balanced manner to create a beautiful piece of art. This is a unique teambuilding opportunity that allows participants to bond and create an artwork as a group. At the end of the workshop, participants can take home their completed calligraphy pieces as souvenirs of the experience.
