A world in every brushstroke
Japanese calligraphy combines communication, artistry, and philosophy in the delicate dance of the brush.
As well as an art form, shodo is considered a Zen activity. The artist must clear their mind and focus their spirit on the work in order to be successful. Accordingly, Japanese calligraphy values spontaneous, flowing brushstrokes as a pure representation of the writer’s spirit.
